- Ideal for insect and mosquito prevention; not recommended where monkey-proofing is required
- A popular choice for bedrooms and living areas where a discreet, low-profile screen is preferred
Sash Window Screens
- Externally mounted removable panel screen – ideal for vertical sash windows and vent openings
- A sub-frame is fitted within the window reveal; the screen panel clips onto it with turn buttons
- Can be removed quickly when window cleaning is needed, then re-secured afterwards
- Mounted externally, so there is no internal obstruction. The window can be opened or closed without adjusting the screen
FAQs
What types of insect window screens do you offer?
We offer four configurations: sash (removable panel), sliding, spring-loaded cassette, and side or top hung window screens. Each is custom-manufactured in aluminium to fit your specific window type and opening.
What is a cassette window screen?
A cassette screen is a retractable insect screen where the mesh rolls up into a compact head box when not in use. Because the mesh runs in a side channel rather than a rigid frame, there is no central bar across the window – giving you full, unobstructed views. These screens are ideal for insects and mosquitoes, though they are not suited to applications where monkey-proofing is required.
Can the screens be mounted internally or externally?
It depends on the screen type. Sash screens are mounted externally to avoid any internal obstruction. Sliding window screens can be mounted either internally or externally. Your Sequ-Door sales representitive will recommend the best approach for your specific window during the measurement visit.
Are insect window screens compatible with my existing windows?
Yes. Our screens are compatible with aluminium, steel, and wooden window frames. Because everything is custom-manufactured to your window dimensions, the frame material is rarely an obstacle.
Can insect screens for windows help with dust and allergies?
Yes – as well as keeping insects out, screens reduce the amount of dust, pollen, and airborne particles entering through open windows. This can make a noticeable difference for households with allergy sufferers, particularly during spring.
Will screened windows save on electricity?
Screened windows allow you to ventilate your home naturally without the discomfort of insects entering. Many homeowners find they rely less on air-conditioning and fans when they can comfortably leave windows open during the day and overnight.
What colours are the frames available in?
Frames are available in a full range of powder-coated colours as well as natural anodised aluminium. A natural mill finish is also available and is commonly chosen for inland installations away from coastal environments.
What warranty do the insect window screens carry?
We offer a 12 months warranty on insect screens for latent product defects, 12 months on hardware, and 12 months on installation workmanship. Warranties do not cover misuse or neglect.
